Super Gay But Catchy

What an ultra-fem video! You can’t make me believe the singer is hetero despite the film, not even for a second. Even the dog in the video shows dominance to the singer. But it’s a catchy tune and I was just dancing to it with Mak. He was glad for the sudden attention, wagging his tail with a confused look on his face.

Effort + Commitment = Love & Happiness

Happiness in love is more than just ease and comfort. It will not be found in the pursuit of momentary pleasures, nor will it come from accepting some else’s definition of it. The happiness that lovers find in each other is created by them through patient and deliberate effort…   If we desire that our happiness be more than an irregular and transitory feeling, then we will be required to bring to it a sound and strong commitment and make our own happiness.

The Million Dollar Body

At six two and a half and 210 pounds, with a waist as slim as a bride’s and shoulders as wide as a doorframe, Max Baer was built to box… His arms weren’t just muscled, they were powerful. His shoulders weren’t just broad, the generated tremendous force. His chin wasn’t just chiseled, it was famously solid.

Love In Kennedy Camelot

“I loved you from the first day I saw you. Ten years later I love you so much more…

…If I hadn’t married you my life would have been tragic – because the definition of tragic is a waste.” – part of Jackie Kennedy’s seven page love letter to husband JFK.

“The one blow I could not bear is to lose you.” – Jackie Kennedy to JFK.

Even Priests Could Punch

Hell’s Kitchen was a dirty, dangerous, squalid place dominated by vicious street gangs – a place where a man who couldn’t use his fists couldn’t call himself a man. Even the priests knew how to throw a punch. “Dad was a fighting Irishman who used to relish taking part in battles himself,” James J. Braddock once said, and Joe Braddock sometimes boasted that he could carry a baby grand piano up three flights of stairs without pausing to catch his breath. – from Cinderella Man, by Jeremy Schapp

Alphas

“Perhaps the most striking similarity between the two men was that Kennedy and Castro were the sort of highly competitive alpha males who never accept losing, no matter what the circumstances, no matter how high the cost.”  – From Killing Kennedy, by Bill O’Reilley and Martin Dugard.

Images From The Coast

As readers know a prevalent theme in Heroes ‘N Pirates is the beach and ocean. Truth is this March trip yielded over a thousand photos and that’s not counting those Tribe Sister, Lori, took. A single week can generate countless posts but I prefer to trickle them over the year. Doing so I relive the beauty of the place and solace of the vacation mindset… along with not saturating readers with too much of one thing all at once. ‘Cause those cycles of romance, dogs, training, aggressive bravado, nature, punk rock and beach are done expressly to blend the fine elements, as the Heroes ‘N Pirates tagline says.

Gunslinger’s Tough Love

“Control the things you can control, maggot. Let everything else take a flying fuck at you and if you must go down, go down with your guns blazing.” – Court’s pedagogical approach to pupil gunslingers. – From Stephen King’s The Drawing of the Three

Charles Bronson takes heed to the “guns blazing” part, doing so, no less, in a sweater worthy of Canadian chill.
